Although, Batson Lumber Co., LLC was created in August, 2007, the sawmill has been in operation for approximately 20 years. The ownership has changed 4 times but the sawmill has never stopped production. We purchase hardwood timber and then produce lumber, chips, bark, and dust. At certain times we also purchase pine to produce chips. Recently, Batson Lumber has upgraded it's facilities to include a scrag mill which enables the company to cut a variety of dimensions and lengths allowing us to meet more customers' needs.
Originally, the lumber produced was intended to be solely used for board road mats. Now we sell lumber for trailer decking, pipe yards, and anything else rough cut hardwood can be used for. The company proudly employs approximately 50 people. We are a vibrant part of the community, in as much as our tax base and supporting local causes.
